The client, a physician from New England, wanted this loco as\u00a0accurately detailed as was humanly possible. Their red handles can be seen in the very first image in this section.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mattforsyth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/I1sa-detail-023.jpg\">http:\/\/mattforsyth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/I1sa-detail-023.jpg<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The arching whistle chord\u00a0and guides from the whistle&#8217;s accuating lever and back to the\u00a0Engineer can\u00a0also be seen. This chord is made from 0.005 brass wire that has been anealed, formed and re-hardend, which allows it to take on\u00a0and maintain this shape.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-383\" href=\"http:\/\/mattforsyth.com\/?attachment_id=383\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-383\" title=\"Tri I1sa paint 1\" src=\"http:\/\/mattforsyth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Tri-I1sa-paint-1-630x472.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"472\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mattforsyth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Tri-I1sa-paint-1-630x472.jpg 630w, http:\/\/mattforsyth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Tri-I1sa-paint-1.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are all the components cooling, having come\u00a0fresh from the paint oven.\u00a0 All parts are baked at 175 degrees for three hours to cure and harden the paint. Paint for this model is ScaleCoat PRR Brunswick Green (DGLE). The paint is not applied directly to the primer coat, as it is too green from the bottle. Instead, after priming, the entire loco is\u00a0first painted semi-flat black, and that coat is then\u00a0baked. 48 hours later, the Brunswick green is applied. \u00a0Doing this dramatically darkens the green top coat to a near-black.
